Mixed Up___________

Room 6 have been working on a mixed up book. On week two we started to decide our topic.

We had to pick three things to do with our topic. Then we took four facts to do with the things that we chose. Next we did our cover, published it and made the book.They all turned out to be FANTASTIC! Here are some of our photos that we took.

Josh and Booboo's Queenstown Adventure

When Booboo and I went to Queenstown we ...
1. Went on the luge.
2. Snowboarding down the mountain.
3. Thought it was dangerous on the mountain.
4. Went Frisbee golfing.
5. had a fun time.
6. stood by the Earnslaw.
7. Went to the Ice Bar.
8. Visited a café.

Getting ready for Puanga

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner we will give up all those to become perfect for Puanga.We will work day and night to dance, sing, and perform like professionals. In two weeks time on Friday you might be lucky enough to hear us on radio at 2:00pm (some people will be speaking in Maori so sorry if you can't understand them). Puanga is a big parade where people perform on big floats, if you do not know. 

In Puanga we will be performing: Nga Tane, Oakura, Tihore Mai and the haka.

We hope you learn a lot about Maori.

Ally and Booboo's Fiji Adventure

In the first week of the holidays I drove to Auckland and we got to go to McDonald s at the airport. It was a three hour flight to Fiji. In the plane we got given some food for free. When I got to Fiji it was late at night so we went to bed. The next day I woke up at 7.30 in the morning. I yelled out to Mum to see if I could go to the pool and have a swim before breakfast. Once it was breakfast time it was a buffet and we got some hot and cold things and I saw them grinding the fruit to make the orange and tropical juice.

Some of the things that we did in Fiji were...

• going to the kids club and playing mini golf
• seeing the lovo being put down
• we went on the boat
• went snorkelling
• played volleyball with my friends

I had the best time that anyone could have in Fiji.

Character day is a day where you bring can of food to school for the Food Bank.  Then the head pupil will take all the food to the food bank for people who don't have enough money to buy food.  We liked getting dressed up!

 

Final Basketball Session

 

On Thursday we had our final basketball session.  We got to play games against each other.  At the end the two coaches each picked one player who they though had applied the skills we had learnt and was a fair player.  Well done Connor and Ella!
